Holiday Cards Are in Season
Is it offside for a vegetarian to use fur in a photoshoot with cartoon animals?
It’s kind of like this year…a little weird, isn’t it? We’re not quite sure how it makes us feel, but we’re just going with it. For the holidays, I normally just print a few cards for clients as a year-end thank-you and leave it at that. But…I needed a little cheer project and made a last-minute decision to increase my holiday critter catalog with four new members. Last year I had developed a Polar Bear and a Fox (still maybe my personal favorite), but it always felt like the clan needed to be rounded out and I’m happy to say this new batch are fitting in quite nicely. Instead of just printing enough for clients, I decided to do a small test run of additional cards to sell and see what kind of feedback I got.
They arrived from the printer, I adored them, and then went about wandering the neighborhood to find some leaves (in the park) and some holly (in another park) and set out to do a small shoot to share my wares (sprinkled in with said rabbit pom-poms as addressed above. (Yes, guilt still lingers but I didn’t buy them, so, there’s that.)
I was thankful and impressed with the folks who supported my little effort and the feedback I received. I have to say though, what I found MOST interesting about the whole experiment wasn’t WHO supported me, but WHAT questions people would pose as their secret password to unlock the e-transfer payments they would send. Only through this experience did I realize you can learn something about the patterns in the questions others choose for you. I found it very cool, and an unexpected insight to the human mind.
So? Please enjoy this collection of Fox, Polar Bear, Chipmunk, Owl, Bunny (green), and Bunny (blonde) + Partridge in a Prickly Pear Tree (part of a collection that isn’t complete yet) and Nutcracker.
Cheers to your end of December 2020, whether you celebrate Christmas, ‘holiday’ time, Hanukah, or just the festive snowy season in the western hemi, or a sunny one in the south.
Thanks for the love this year despite the chaos,
~lou
